Built in the 1880's Melvin House is arguably one of the finest examples of Victorian architecture in Edinburgh. In the 1930’s the building served as residence to the young ladies of Queen Margaret College “Domestic Science Institute” before being passed to the National Health Service as a Conference Centre in the 1960’s. Now, the house has been transformed to a wonderful Town House Hotel, the elegant public rooms having been restored to their former Victorian Splendour.
