An alpine country backdrop is complimented by timber chalets with wide verandahs, a hallmark of traditional Malaysian architecture. The construction is primarily a local hardwood known as 'selangan batu' (shorea maxwelliana), meaning 'hard as rock' in Malay, has almost double the compressive strength of average cured concrete.
