Hotel Charles can be found on the Buda side of the capital, only a few minutes' walk away from Gellert Hill and not far from the Castle District. Public transportation is excellent in the area: the bus stops right in front of the building and the second stop is already downtown Budapest with the famous Vaci pedestrian street.
Instead of regular rooms the hotel offers studios, which means the guests get to use beside the room, an entirely equipped kitchenette, as well as a nice bathroom with shower or bath-tub. Standard category as well as Deluxe Studios have been totally refurbished recently - the latter ones offer the comfort and elegant atmosphere of a four star hotel room.
The hotel has 70 studios, most double (with the possibility to add an extra bed or baby-bed), but there are triples as well. Guests can leave their cars in a safe place, in the closed courtyard of the hotel for a surcharge, but on the streets near the hotel they can also park free of charge.
At the reception staff speaks several languages and due to the wide variety of services offered, guests can feel at home even if they are far away from their own country: business travellers can use the xerox machine, the fax and the printer, they have free WiFi Internet access all over the building or can rent a computer in the Business Corner. Tourists who travel with their families or friends can request a highchair for children and can rent a bike.
In Janos Restaurant, located within the hotel building, guests are awaited by a rich buffet breakfast every morning.

Reaching the hotel:
By car
From Vienna (motorways M1/M7):
Arrive in Budapest and follow the signs for the city centre - Erzsébet Hìd bridge. Cross the flyover and after 300 metres you will see the hotel on your left hand side.
From M3 motorway:
Arrive in Budapest and follow the signs for the city centre. Cross the flyover and the city park. From Hero's Square follow the roundabout and turn left. After 200 metres, at the traffic lights, turn left and after the next traffic lights turn right onto Andrássy út. Proceed for approximately 3 km. Cross over the Chain Bridge (Lanchìd) and pass through the tunnel. Infront of the Mol petrol station turn left. The hotel is located at the end of this street on the corner of Mészáros u. and Hegyalja út.
From M5 motorway (E75):
Follow the signs for the city centre. Turn right toward the Árpád bridge. After 500 metres turn right and follow the signs for the centre. Cross over the Erzsébet Hìd Bridge. The hotel is located 600 metres after the bridge on the right hand side.
By train
From Déli (South) railway station:
Take the tram n. 61 in the direction of Móricz Zs. Tér.
Get off at the fourth stop (Hegyalja út) where you will see the hotel Novotel on the right. Take the bus n. 8 or n. 112 (the bus-stop is beside the Arany Híd restaurant) and get off at the first stop.
From Nyugati (West) railway station:
Take the subway in the direction of Kőbánya-Kispest.
Get off at the third stop (Ferenciek tere). Take the left exit of the subway. After 50 metres you will see the bus stop beside a church. Take the bus n. 8 or n. 112 and get off at the third stop (Mészáros u.).
From Keleti (East) railway station:
Take the bus n. 178A. Get off at the stop Zsolt utca" (one stop after the MOL petrol station). Proceed on foot for approximately 200 metres on Mészáros street, where you will see the hotel.
